Summary for the board
Crateclass
Maths and English (Years 1–8) for New Zealand classrooms, written to Te Mātaiaho.
What it is
A website with 3D lessons for the class screen, teacher slides, worksheets at three levels (Tūī, Kererū, Kea), mini games and question sets — plus an online classroom where students do set work and earn rewards for effort.
Why it helps
- Saves teacher planning time: every topic is ready to teach
- Work is pitched at three levels, so every student is stretched
- Students stay motivated by rewards earned through effort, not money
Evidence of learning
- Progress reports by curriculum topic: secured, developing, needs support
- Shows improvement over the term and who needs help
- Print or save as PDF for reports and parent meetings
Safety and privacy
- No student emails, photos or chat; made-up names only
- No ads; data never sold; NZ Privacy Act 2020
- School leaders see every teacher and class, and can remove staff
Running it
- Works in any browser: Chromebooks, iPads, laptops
- Teachers join with their school email; class lists import from KAMAR, Hero and other systems
- "Focus time" pauses rewards so students stay on task
Cost
One yearly licence for every teacher and student, invoiced to the school (purchase orders welcome). Priced by student numbers and always less than teachers buying their own plans. Ask for a quote.
