Yes. Topics follow Te Mātaiaho — the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum — phase by phase. Lessons use New Zealand money, places and native birds, with te reo Māori throughout.

Just a web browser. It works on Chromebooks, iPads, laptops and classroom screens, with nothing to install. A newer device makes the 3D lessons smoother; every lesson also has slides and printable worksheets.

About five minutes: create a class, paste in your students' first names, and print the login cards. Students get made-up names like SwiftKea27 and simple passwords.

They open your class's sign-in link (or type the class code), tap their name and type the password from their login card. Each device remembers the class after the first time.

No. Students never give an email, phone number or photo. Their real names are never shown to other students — you can add a private note that only you see.

Rewards for effort. Students earn coins and crates by finishing work, then open crates for 3D gear for their character. Rewards are capped each day, so the learning comes first. Coins have no money value and can't be bought.

No. Nothing on Crateclass is for sale to students, and there are no ads.

Yes. Turn on Focus time from your class home for 20 minutes, 40 minutes, an hour or the rest of the day. Students only see My work until it ends — crates, trading, the market, the shop, dressing up and free play are paused. Anything they earn waits for them.

No. There is no chat or free-text messaging. Students can only swap items and coins (if you allow trading), and you can see every trade.

Open Students in your class and reset it — a new password appears straight away. After too many wrong tries, sign-in pauses for a few minutes to stop guessing.

Yes. The Family plan gives up to six children their own logins, every lesson and game, and a view of how each one is going.

Children on the Family plan can swap items and use the market with children from other Crateclass families. Everyone uses made-up names, there's no chat, and you can switch trading or the market off any time in Settings & trading.

Every teacher and student at your school. Teachers sign up with their school email address and get straight in. You're invoiced (purchase orders welcome). More for schools.

It depends on the size of your school. Ask for a quote — it will always cost less than your teachers buying their own plans.

Yes. Every Teacher and Family account gets 7 days free, with no card needed. The trial stops by itself after a week (one free week per email address), and anything you set up is kept if you choose a plan.

By card through Stripe, a secure payment company. We never see or store your card number. Schools can pay by invoice.

Yes, any time, from My plan. You keep access until the end of the month or year you've paid for, and nothing renews after that.

They're kept safe for 12 months, so everything is there if you come back. Students can't sign in while the plan isn't active. Ask us any time to delete them sooner.

Only what's needed to run the classroom: a made-up name, username and password, their class, their work and scores, and their coins and items. See the privacy policy for the full list.

No and no. We never sell or share personal information for advertising, and there are no ads anywhere.

Yes. Teachers can remove students and classes themselves. To delete a whole account, send us a message and we'll do it within 30 days.
