Terms
Terms of use
The rules for using Crateclass, in plain English. Last updated 20 October 2026.
1. Accounts
Teacher and parent accounts are for adults. Student logins are made by a teacher or parent, who is responsible for how their students use them. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
2. Free trial
New Teacher and Family accounts get 7 days free with no card needed. There's one free trial per email address. The trial stops by itself — you are never charged unless you choose a plan.
3. Plans, payment and cancelling
- Teacher and Family plans are paid monthly or yearly by card, in New Zealand dollars, through Stripe.
- Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from My plan; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- We don't give part refunds for unused time, except where the law requires it. If something isn't working, tell us and we'll put it right.
- If we change prices, we'll tell you before your next renewal.
4. School licences
A school licence covers the teachers and students of that school for the period and price in your quote, and is paid by invoice. The school decides which teachers can join.
5. Using the resources
While your plan or licence is active, you may use, show and print Crateclass lessons, slides and worksheets for your own classes or your own children. Please don't sell, share publicly, or upload them to other websites, and don't share your account with people outside your plan. Crateclass content stays the property of Crateclass.
6. Coins, crates and items
Coins, crates, gold and items are learning rewards. They have no money value, can't be bought or exchanged for money, and may be reset or removed if they're gained by misuse or a fault.
7. Fair use
Please don't try to break into accounts or the site, overload it, copy it in bulk, or use it to upload anything harmful or unlawful. We may pause or close accounts that do.
8. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Crateclass running and improving, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable. We may change or remove features; if a change takes away something important from a paid plan, you can cancel and we'll refund the unused part.
9. Responsibility
Crateclass is provided to help teaching and learning; teachers and parents stay responsible for their own planning and assessment. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply.
10. Privacy
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.
11. General
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. If we update them, we'll tell you before the changes take effect. Questions? Contact us.
